That is normally the case as 2 electric showers turned on same time will OVERLOAD the fuse board and possibly blow the main incomer fuse... even more likely if that electric oven is in use - Not good !

How does this work ?

Basically we connect up to a maximum three separate electric showers to this specialist panel, the panel is then wired up to your consumer board this allows only one shower to work at a time - So the other two showers will not operate until the user of the first shower has finished showering - First come first served basis, this ensures your property supply does not over load tripping the main incomer fuse. What's more we can even include a timer for each shower saving you money.

This board will only ever allow one shower to run at a time. Making your electrical system safe without any possibility of overloading the system.

Shower electrical tails on your current electric shower ( At the fuse board ) must be long enough to reach the distribution panel otherwise additional electrical work and extra charge will be applied £75 - £125

How many amps of power is used when all appliances are used at the same time ??

Your property will have one of these incomer fuse cartridges 60amp - 80amp - 100 amp

Example 60 amp House incomer fuse

If you were to use these 2 appliances at once

9Kw Shower  = 37 amps

Electric cooker = 40 amps

Total = 77 amps

You have already exceeded the 60 amp incomer fuse.

Example 80 amp House incomer fuse

If you were to use these 3 appliances at once

1 x 9Kw Shower = 37 amps

1 x 9Kw Shower = 37 amps

Electric cooker = 40 amps

Total = 114 amps

You have already exceeded the 80 amp incomer fuse when you fit a second electric shower.

Example 100 amp House incomer fuse

If you were to use these 3 appliances at once

1 x 9Kw Shower = 37 amps

1 x 9Kw Shower = 37 amps

Electric cooker = 40 amps

Total = 114 amps

You have already exceeded the 100 amp incomer fuse when you fit a second electric shower.

OK so you may NOT have an electric hob/ oven so you are within the safe use parameters but who is to say that the gas oven may be replaced at some point in the future with an electric oven and hob ?

Granted the main incomer fuse will allow extra power to be drawn past the fuse maximum - But not too much ! We have not included washing machines -  driers - kettles being used at the same time - This could be enough to blow the incomer fuse. NOTE incomer fuses cannot be reset by flicking a switch - Your electricity supplier will have to come out and replace the blown fuse - Do not risk overloading your electric supply by fitting a second shower without a purpose designed distribution panel.
